Terms of Service
How to use your shared space for everyday records
Effective 2026-10-17
Published and effective 2026-10-17: added information about optional GPS lookup and address search for neighborhood meetups during internal testing.
1. Purpose
These terms set out the rights, obligations and responsibilities between Ongi (“the Company”) and you, in connection with your use of the Ongi pet photo and digital frame service (“the Service”).
2. Effect and Changes to These Terms
- These terms take effect when posted within the Service.
- We may change these terms. When we do, we announce it in the Service and notify you individually by email or a similar means at least 7 days before the change takes effect, or at least 30 days before for changes that are unfavorable to you.
- If you do not object within 7 days of that notice (30 days for unfavorable changes), you are treated as having agreed. If you do not agree, you may terminate your use of the Service.
3. Sign-up and Your Account
- You apply to join with an email address or a social login, and the agreement is formed when we accept.
- Children under 14 cannot sign up. Where the law allows it, use is possible only with the consent of a legal guardian.
- You are responsible for looking after your account, and you may not transfer it to anyone else.
4. Closing Your Account
You can close your account at any time from the menu in the Service. Closing your account or deleting the app does not extinguish your return or refund rights for purchased goods.
5. What the Service Provides
Ongi lets you record pet photos and view them on a connected digital frame. App subscription products, pricing, renewal, cancellation and refund terms will be disclosed before paid services begin.
5-1. Neighborhood Meetups
Neighbors lets members find or create neighborhood meetups and request to join. Meetups are available to members aged 19 or older. We check eligibility using the date of birth already held for the account. Neighborhoods use names you enter or confirm. When you open ‘My neighborhood’, acknowledge the location notice and grant location permission, Ongi obtains your current latitude and longitude once and sends them through its server to Kakao's administrative-region conversion API. Once you have acknowledged the notice and granted permission, opening ‘My neighborhood’ again starts another one-time lookup. Ongi does not collect location continuously or track your location in the background. If location cannot be found or permission is unavailable, the flow switches to address search. You can search by address without location permission. When you run an address search, Ongi sends the entered query through its server to Kakao's address search API. Ongi does not store coordinates, address queries or search history from these lookups in its database. Only after you confirm a candidate and tap ‘Set this neighborhood’ is the neighborhood name saved.
The host manages the meetup and participation requests. A request is confirmed when the host approves it. Applicants can withdraw their request, and hosts can cancel their meetup. Please do not enter another person's personal information or unnecessary sensitive information in meetup details. Report inappropriate meetups from their details or through customer support. User blocking is also available.
6. Changes to or Suspension of the Service
We may change or stop all or part of the Service where operations or technical needs require it, and we announce this in the Service beforehand. Where advance notice is not possible for unavoidable reasons, we notify you afterwards.
7. Product Purchases and Service Closure
Digital frame sales are in preparation; orders are not being accepted yet. Sales terms will be finalized before orders open. Product purchases are governed by the product information and the separate Returns, Exchanges & Refunds. Physical product purchases and app subscriptions are separate.
If the Service closes, we give at least 30 days of notice and explain refunds for unfulfilled paid services under applicable law and purchase terms.
8. Your Obligations and Prohibited Conduct
You must not do any of the following.
- Take over someone else’s account, or upload another person’s personal information or photos without permission
- Post content that infringes copyright or other rights, or that breaks the law or public order
- Crawl or scrape the Service without permission, reverse-engineer it, or access it in abnormal ways
- Interfere with the work of the Company or others, or place a load on our systems
If you break these rules we may restrict your use after notifying you first. For serious breaches, such as illegal content, we may restrict it immediately.
9. Rights in What You Post
You keep the copyright in the content you upload. You grant us permission to use that content to the extent needed to provide and run the Service — recording photos, displaying them on frames, generating videos, and backups.
10. Limits of Liability
We are not liable for loss arising from the following, and only where the loss is not caused by our intent or negligence.
- Force majeure, such as natural disasters
- Causes attributable to you, or problems with your internet connection or device
- Failures of third-party services such as payment processing or AI video generation — and only where we exercised due care in choosing and supervising those providers
11. Privacy
How we handle personal information is set out in the separate Privacy Policy.
12. Disputes and Governing Law
These terms are interpreted under the laws of the Republic of Korea. The court with jurisdiction over any lawsuit is determined by the Civil Procedure Act and other applicable Korean law.
